St Paul’S Anglican Grammar School Exhibits At Latrobe Performing Arts CentreAs part of the Latrobe Performing Arts Education Program, St Paul’s Anglican Grammar school is holding an art exhibition at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre. By Latrobe City - 14th August 2013 - Back to News Latrobe City Council’s acting coordinator, performing arts and venues, Phillip van Nes said that an official exhibition opening would be held on Tuesday 20 August.
"This gives the students an opportunity to understand what goes on at a formal event such as an opening. It is also a wonderful time for them to share their work with family and friends.
"Our patrons regularly comment to us on the artworks that are exhibited. They enjoy seeing the variety of works on show and it’s a great way to share the creative talents of our local school children with a wider audience.
"The work in this particular exhibition offers a diversity of themes and mediums which demonstrates an understanding of various arts styles and techniques from the weekly classroom lessons," Mr van Nes said.
St Paul’s Anglican Grammar school art teacher, Ms Karen Fox, said that the exhibition represented a selection of artworks created by the students in prep, years 2, 4 and 6.
"The artwork is a display of drawings, collages and self-portraits. Students have used materials such as Easter egg wrappers, black pen markers, oil pastels and material textiles.
"They are excited about the opening and getting to show their families and friends the work they’ve created," Ms Fox concluded.
The exhibition runs until Wednesday 25 September. The opening will be held Tuesday 20 August from 4.30pm at Latrobe Performing Arts Centre. To attend RSVP the performing arts centre box office on 5176 3559
