Kinder Upgrade to Support Warragul Families
Access to more kinder places and the first-rate early years services for Warragul families.
Families in Warragul have access to more kinder places and the first-rate early years services they deserve, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
Member for Eastern Victoria, Harriet Shing, today visited St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School Early Learning Centre in Warragul to open its Outdoor Learning Area.
The Outdoor Learning area includes a water play area, sand deck, rock layered landscape and woodlands.
The Labor Government provided $262,500 for the Outdoor Learning Area through a Children’s Facilities Capital Program grant.
The state’s biggest early education build will continue over the coming years, with almost 1,000 new and upgraded kinders to come.
The Labor Government will invest more than $1.6 billion over the next decade to build approximately 785 new kinders and expand 170 existing services.
The is part of a $5 billion plan to ensure every Victorian child has access to at least five hours of subsidised three-year-old kinder by 2022, progressively scaled up to 15 hours per week over the next decade.
This will be the largest social, economic and educational reform ever undertaken in early childhood learning in Victoria’s history.
Quotes attributable to Member for Eastern Victoria, Harriet Shing:
"Warragul families will reap the benefits of this upgrade and local kids will get the best out of kinder."
"This is about giving children strong support from an early age, so they’re ready for school and ready for life."
