East Gippsland contractors invited to workshop to learn how to successfully tender for council projects and opportunities
East Gippsland Shire Council invites local contractors to a breakfast workshop covering tendering tips, safety requirements, and 2025/26 Capital Works opportunities to help businesses win council contracts confidently.
Have you ever spotted a tender on East Gippsland Shire Council's website and thought, "I wouldn't even know where to start"? You're not alone and council's upcoming workshop might be just what you need. Local contractors, tradies, and businesses are invited to a Tendering and Procurement Workshop and Contractor's Breakfast hosted by East Gippsland Shire Council. The event will take place on Friday 1 August, from 7.30 am to 9.00 am at the WORLD Centre in Bairnsdale.

Boosting tender success
The session is aimed at helping local contractors better understand council's procurement process and how to improve their chances of winning council work. It's also a chance to hear about upcoming opportunities from the 2025/26 Capital Works Program.
Businesses in industries such as construction, roadworks, painting, landscaping and general trade services are all encouraged to attend. The event will include:
- Overview of the upcoming 2025/26 Capital Works Program
- Practical tendering tips to improve your submissions
- Spotlight on safety requirements
- Insights into how local government procurement works
The workshop is designed to demystify the tendering process and give local businesses the tools they need to confidently go after council contracts. Registrations are essential for catering purposes, and tickets can be purchased through trybooking website. The cost includes breakfast.
