Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester welcomed Mallacoota P-12 College students to Parliament House during their Canberra visit, discussing Federal Parliament, democracy and the role of elected representatives.

Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester has welcomed students from Mallacoota P-12 College to Parliament House during their recent visit to Canberra. Mr Chester caught up with students including Captains Zoe Jakovljevic and Archie Brownlie and spoke with the group about the Federal Parliament and their time in the nation’s capital.

Mr Chester said, "I always enjoy catching up with local students when they visit Parliament House as part of a school trip to Canberra. These visits are a terrific opportunity for young people to see our democracy in action, learn more about how the Federal Parliament works and gain a better understanding of the role elected representatives play."

"It was great to hear about their trip, answer a few questions and welcome some familiar Gippsland faces to Parliament House. Thanks to Zoe, Archie and the Mallacoota P-12 College crew for stopping by. I hope they enjoyed their time in Canberra," Mr Chester said.
