CEO Steve Kozlowski said the event was the largest regional innovation festival in Australia and will include events, lectures, information sessions and exhibitions that relate to innovation in the Gippsland region.

"The Gippsland festival falls under the umbrella of the Australian Innovation Festival – a month of nationwide events," he said.

"The object is to demonstrate the value of research, development and partnerships that benefit the region, enhancing investment and employment opportunities, and encouraging collaboration and regional marketing.

"It is a great opportunity to showcase innovation in East Gippsland as part of this major event that will put us on the national stage"

Mr Kozlowski said that innovation is flourishing throughout East Gippsland and local Government has a key role in recognising, leading and stimulating it across all sectors.

"We are encouraging local business and community groups to participate and take advantage of the opportunity to put their achievements on stage and we welcome expressions of interest from across the Shire." he said.
