By Latrobe City Pacers - 23rd March 2005 - Back to News The Pacers have met three of the top four teams over the last two weeks and have not been disgraced.
President David Roberts said that two the teams played have been genuine finals contenders in Sandringham and Dandenong. Sandringham has been in the conference finals for the last 4 years and has added Bobby Cunningham and Marcus Timmins to their line-up this year, so far they have played 3 games without defeat, while Dandenong were finalist in the South East ABA last season and again have not lost this season.
"It is a good measuring stick to come against these teams early and to be extremely competitive" Roberts said
"We have a good team this year and we now need to learn how to convert close games into wins."
"Last season we finished with about 7 losses under ten points, we need to make them wins this year" he continued.
"Once again the League is very strong this year and any team can step up in a game"
Pacers now have a run of games against teams struggling for wins including last placed Sherbrooke, Bulleen and Eltham.
"We need to capitalize and get a win" said Roberts
Tip off this Saturday is at 8pm at the Traralgon Sports Stadium.
