Sewer upgrade completed

The north-east sewer upgrade ensures the security of water by accommodating for the future growth of the region, reducing the risk of main failures. A section of the regional outfall system in Traralgon was replaced to protect the surrounding houses and the environment, while ensuring the continuity of services to major customers.

The organisation also undertook the complex task of replacing ageing covers on two industrial wastewater lagoons at the Gippsland Water Factory in Morwell, an industry-first in the Victorian water sector.

Gippsland Water expansion

Gippsland Regional Organics, one of Gippsland Water's commercial businesses, was expanded to reduce the amount of waste going into landfill, making it the largest composting facility in Victoria. The organisation collaborated with GLaWAC and Gunai artist Alice Pepper to install First Nations artwork on the Stratford water tower.

Customers were engaged on a range of issues and projects important to them and their feedback helped inform the organisation's future planning and delivery of its promises. To read the 2025 Community Report in full, visit Gippsland Water website.
