Low-cost VICSWIM intensive swim program offers children vital water safety skills at local Gippsland pools this summer
Wellington Shire Council has elected Scott Rossetti as Mayor and Cindy Madeley as Deputy Mayor, both bringing extensive experience and a shared commitment to local leadership and community development for the upcoming term.
Parents looking for a low-cost holiday activity over summer are being encouraged to consider a VICWIM intensive swim program and one of our local pools. One-week courses are available throughout January for children aged 4-12 of all swimming abilities at the government-subsidised cost of just $35.
Since 1976, VICSWIM has offered fun, educational aquatic programs statewide, focusing on swim and water safety skills for children
VICSWIM holiday program
The Nationals Member for Gippsland South, Danny O'Brien said the programs represent not just a great low-cost holiday activity for the kids, but an important opportunity for children to learn a lifelong skill.
"The VICSWIM program teaches more than swimming technique - they also teach safety in and around the water and what to do in an emergency. This is a great way for children to learn important life saving skills, all while having fun with other children over the summer," said Mr O'Brien.
VICSWIM lessons will be held at local pools in Korumburra, Toora, Stratford, Maffra, Heyfield, Yarram and Rosedale. Spaces are limited. For more details, or to book visit VICSWIM website.
