With Round One of Community Grants for 2022/23 opening on 1 July, our Community Strengthening team are hitting the road to provide advice to the community

Community drop-in sessions

During June and July, drop-in sessions will be held across the Shire where community organisations and individuals alike can come along and ask any questions they might have. All drop-in sessions will be available between 9.30am and 3.30pm on the dates and at the locations listed below:

Social and affordable housing

To help support South Gippslanders who find themselves in need of social or affordable housing, council have created a draft Social and Affordable Housing Strategy. This strategy highlights the opportunities we have at council to support more social and affordable housing, including advocating for services and supporting providers of social and affordable housing to invest in South Gippsland.

Volunteering survey

The Volunteering in Australia organisation survey is a historic opportunity to capture the current state of volunteering, map trends, and consider how volunteering may evolve into the future. Volunteering Australia, in partnership with Curtin University, Griffith University, and the University of Western Australia, is conducting the largest ever survey of volunteer-involving organisations in Australia.

By participating in the survey, you will help build the most comprehensive understanding of volunteering in Australia's history. The findings of this research will inform the development of the National Strategy for Volunteering, which will provide a blueprint for a re-imagined future for volunteering in Australia. Mental health and wellbeing

For some, the psychological, social and economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have significantly impacted their mental health and wellbeing. Road renaming proposal

Koonwarra Section - South Gippsland Highway. The following names were compliant under the GNV guidelines and shortlisted: Milson, Barguss, Prosser, Fossil and Kinnish. Abutting landowners impacted by the renaming are now being consulted. Results and shortlisted names will be presented for consideration at the next council meeting.
