Latrobe Performing Arts presents Club KaaluaThe exciting and unqiue sounds of Club Kaalua will come to Latrobe on Tuesday 14 September as part of Latrobe Performing Art’s Morning Music Program. By Latrobe Shire Council - 25th August 2004 - Back to News Latrobe City’s Box Office Co-ordinator, Kathleen Roberts, said that Club Kaalua is a talented and sensational act that guarantee their auidence a great musical experience.
"Every now and then an act comes along that stands out from the rest and Club Kaalua certainly is one of them. Their music consists of a myriad of styles, performing everything from Country to Rock and Pop to Reggae, and this unique style has a huge impact on their audience," Ms Roberts said.
"The duo consists of male singer, Beau Kaa, and female keyboardist, Phoenix. Beau has a tremendous charisma as he wanders effortlessly through the music of Tom Jones, Englebert Humperdinck, Elvis, John Rowles, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and many others. Joined by Phoenix, Club Kaalua make an outstanding duo that leaves their audience spellbound," Ms Roberts added.
Beau Kaa was born in New Zealand and is well known in the New Zealand music industry, making a variety of television and movie appearances in the country. His vocal power and technique allow him to pay tribute to some of the world’s greatest entertainers, whilst also performing beautiful renditions of traditional and modern New Zealand songs.
Phoenix Kaa was also born in New Zealand and is the driving force behind Club Kaalua's success. Phoenix has dedicated herself to entertaining thousands of New Zealanders and Australians alike, and she performs the songs of well-known artists such as The Carpenters, Tina Turner and Diana Ross with strength and ease.
Club Kaalua will perform at Kernot Hall, Morwell on Tuesday 14 September at 11am, complimentary tea and coffee will be available from 10.30am.
