Council welcomes new Forensic Hub for the Valley

Latrobe City Council has welcomed the news of a Forensic Hub to be based in Latrobe City.

Mayor, Councillor Kellie O’Callaghan said this was an important announcement by Premier Daniel Andrews for our community and the future of Latrobe City.

"Not only are these specialist, high quality roles within our community, but they are jobs designed to service our community," Cr O’Callaghan said.

"These positions will play a crucial role in solving crime in the region. We look forward to seeing this facility operational by the end of 2018." Cr O’Callaghan also met with the Premier during his visit to Latrobe City.

"Meeting with the Premier this morning was also another great opportunity to highlight the needs of our community, as well as continue ongoing conversations about a just transition for Latrobe City," Cr O’Callaghan said.

"We are also delighted when the Premier visits as it is an important reminder that we are not alone in this transition."
