Take the day to settle into this dreamy seaside town. Get the legs pumping on an early morning walk on The Narrows Walk, stretching between Bucklands Jetty and Captain Creek Jetty (3 km each way). This serene stroll takes in sumptuous views across the Mallacoota Inlet.
Start your day right with a coffee from Beanie Coffee, slinging caffeine beverages from the impossibly cute converted horse float. Overlooking the lake, s.u.n.dayss offers up a healthy range of juices, smoothie bowls and Wild Rye ciabatta toasties.
The coast of Mallacoota is lined with unique rock formations, and sparkles with turquoise water. Explore the beautiful beaches. If you've got little ones, you may like to take part in a Rockpool Ramble, part of Parks Victoria's Junior Ranger Program, or do your own beach hopping tour. (Pssst, check out this article on The Best Beaches of Mallacoota )
Explore Mallacoota's coastal allure: stroll The Narrows Walk, sip coffee at Beanie Coffee, dine at s.u.n.dayss, enjoy beach activities, savour dinner at Lucy's, and join the Lantern Parade at dusk
Inlet adventures await
Don't miss the opportunity to explore the inlet via boat or cast a line. If you haven't brought your own fishing gear, you can take an offshore fishing tour with Mallacoota Fishing Charters & Tours or grab a boat from Buckland's Jetty Boat Hire. Perhaps steer yourself over to the pink granite outcrop of Gabo Island, where you can take a tour of the stoic lighthouse.
Make sure your dinner plans include Lucy's, a Mallacoota institution famed for homemade rice noodles and Cantonese dumplings. In the evening you can join Wild Harvest's atmospheric Lantern Parade. Watch the Mallacoota foreshore light up at this magical free event, where you're welcome to bring your own lantern, torch or glow sticks.
