Council Recruiting Planners

East Gippsland Shire Council has begun recruiting more planners to handle the growth in the number of development applications across the region.

By East Gippsland Shire Council - 18th November 2004 - Back to News

CEO Steve Kozlowski said that a newly appointed Senior Planner would begin work within a few weeks and recruiting was currently being conducted for two more planning officers.

"Our existing resources are currently stretched to the limit," he said, "and as a result there are some delays in the approval process."

Mr Kozlowski said that increased public consultation had also meant there was additional time required to process some applications.

"With greater community involvement we understand decision making will take a little longer so we are taking steps to speed up the process." he said.
