Community water funding aid on offer

Community groups, schools or anyone with an interest in making the Westernport region more water smart can share in $5 million in State Government funding.

Westernport Water, together with South Gippsland Water, is holding a free information session about the funding available through Round 5 of the Smart Water Fund.

The Smart Water Fund will invest up to $5 million to encourage and support innovative ideas for water conservation, water recycling and sustainable biosolids management. Anyone with an innovative project is encouraged to apply, including individuals, community groups, research and development institutions and businesses.

The Wonthaggi session, from 10am to noon on September 17, will discuss the areas of funding available and provide some tips and advice in completing applications.

The Smart Water Fund is an initiative of the Victorian water industry and the Victorian Government to encourage and support innovative solutions that will help create a water smart future for Victoria.
