Don Giovanni arrives

Latrobe City Council Mayor, Councillor Sharon Gibson, said this event would be a highlight for audiences across the region."We are thrilled to welcome Opera Australia and Don Giovanni to GPAC. This is a rare chance to see a world-class performance locally, and we're proud to bring opportunities like this to our community."

Directed by renowned Australian theatre-maker Michael Gow, Don Giovanni is a gripping blend of dark comedy, drama and supernatural intrigue. Widely considered one of Mozart's greatest works, the opera follows the notorious Don Giovanni - a charismatic libertine whose reckless pursuits lead to a dramatic and chilling downfall.

Opera comes regional

This performance features a talented cast of Australian and international performers, under the musical direction of conductor Simon Bruckard. Audiences can expect powerful vocals, striking staging and a compelling theatrical experience.

The opera will be performed in Italian with English subtitles. This performance forms part of Opera Australia's ongoing commitment to bringing high-quality arts experiences to regional communities across the country.
