Dinosaurs to romp at Latrobe City librariesThe Latrobe City Library Service is providing a school holiday program for primary school children during the June school holidays. By Latrobe City Council - 9th June 2006 - Back to News Latrobe City’s children’s library officer, Noelene Grayden, said the program will provide some exciting activities for children in a fun and safe environment.
"The theme for the holidays is ‘Dinosaurs Romp’. All activities will take children into a world where tyrannosauruses, brontosauruses, stegosauruses and pterodactyls roamed at large," Ms Grayden said.
"In week-one, on Tuesday 20 June, there will be a dinosaur story time at 10.30am at the Traralgon library, and 11am at the Morwell library. Children can listen to stories and participate in an associated craft activity.
"In week-two, we are thrilled to have CARP Productions, a Melbourne theatre company, present a 45 minute production called ‘The Terror-Dactyls Show’. Children attending the performances can travel through the mists of time to an age when dinosaurs ruled the earth.
"Meet Emma, who finds a dinosaur egg in her own back garden. The show includes lots of audience participation, dinosaur facts, songs and poems. Look out for the Terror-Dactyl, though," Ms Grayden warned.
‘The Terror-Dactyls Show’ will be held on Friday 30 June at the Morwell library at 11am and at the Moe Library at 2pm.
Bookings are advisable as numbers are limited. To contact the Morwell Library telephone 5128 5436; to contact the Moe Library telephone 5135 8350. Both events are free.
"So for a romping good time, visit your local library these holidays," Ms Grayden added.
