Danny O'Brien urges Gippslanders to apply for Men's Shed Funding Program with up to $100,000 in grants by 16 October 2024
Danny O'Brien, Nationals Member for Gippsland South, urges local Men's Sheds to apply for up to $100,000 in grants for building, refurbishing, or extending their facilities.
The Nationals Member for Gippsland South, Danny O'Brien is encouraging Gippsland Men's Sheds to apply for the latest round of grants from this year's Men's Shed Funding Program. Grants of up to $100,000 are now available to build new Men's Sheds or the replacement, extension or refurbishment of an existing shed Mr O'Brien said. There are more than 325 Men's Sheds across Victoria supporting their communities in various ways.
Grants of up to $100,000 are available to build or improve Men's Sheds statewide, with $860,000 in total funding. Men's Sheds foster social connections and community involvement

Mr O'Brien said he was delighted to see Leongatha and the Venus Bay Tarwin Lower and District Men's Shed benefit from these grants in the 2023-2024 financial year. "The Leongatha Men's Shed received $21,921 to allow them to place solar panels on the roof and security screens on the doors and windows, while the Venus Bay Tarwin Lower and District Men's Shed received $64,260 to add a 12x5 metre extension to its shed."
"It was also pleasing to help the Korumburra Men's Shed access its new railway precinct facility and catch up with the crew there recently. Men's Sheds are one of our most powerful tools in supporting men in our communities. When visiting sheds across Gippsland South I hear stories of the invaluable support Men's Sheds provide to men of all ages."
"I am encouraging all Men's Sheds across Gippsland South who require refurbishments, extensions or replacements to ensure they get their applications in," said Mr O'Brien. Applications close 16 October. More information is available online at Agriculture Victoria website.
