Seminars to assist the agedBaw Baw Shire Council is hosting a ‘Positive Ageing Seminar Series’ in the months of September, October and November. By Baw Baw Shire Council - 9th August 2004 - Back to News It is anticipated these will assist to support our consumers with navigating the maze of Aged and Disability services and promote positive concepts associated with healthy ageing.
There are four main themes highlighted in each seminar
- Health Ageing - Living Longer, Living Stronger
- Caring for a loved one with Dementia
- Service provider Expo covering a broad range of support
- Planning for retirement, Centrelink entitlements and funeral plans
These sessions will commence in September and be facilitated in two to three locations across the Shire.
The sessions are free and light refreshments will be provided; transport is available for those who are geographically isolated.
