PACERS unnamedThe Latrobe City Pacers may start the 2005 season without a naming sponsor, according Club President David Roberts. By Latrobe City Pacers - 7th March 2005 - Back to News With less than two weeks to go until the start of the Big V ABA season, SIEMENS have advised the club of a reduced sponsorship commitment.
Roberts said that while the club is disappointed to be losing a naming sponsorship, SIEMENS have maintained their high-level financial support of the club and importantly have come forward with a 3-year proposal.
"We are pleased to maintain SIEMENS as a major sponsor for the club and look forward to building a strong relationship over the next 3 years"
"It is extremely difficult to get major sponsors to commit long term and we are extremely excited that SIEMENS have made such a commitment" Roberts said.
The Club will now begin the search for a naming sponsor with the Club remaining positive that naming sponsor will be found.
"It is an exciting time to be forming a partnership with the Pacers as the club continues to increase community support and improve on court performance"
"We are currently in discussion with a second import, but hope to attract a naming sponsor prior to making a final commitment and signing his contract" Roberts said.
The Club believes that with the 2006 Commonwealth Games hosting Basketball Games in Traralgon that a potential sponsor will benefit from the increased profile of both the Pacers and basketball during the next two years.
In 2005, the Club will play 5 games at Moe, 5 at Traralgon and 1 game in Sale. The first game being the 19th of March at Moe against new comers Dandenong followed the next week by a game in Traralgon against Sherbrooke.
Any prospective sponsors should contact David Roberts on 0412 724 465 or Vashon Weaver on 0431 556699 to discuss their support.
