Temporary Entrance Now Operating At Leisure Centre A temporary entrance to Latrobe Leisure Moe Newborough is now operating at the Southwell Avenue end of the facility. By Latrobe City Council - 14th May 2009 - Back to News Latrobe City’s manager, recreational liveability, Jamey Mullen, said the temporary entrance leads patrons through the new air conditioned multi purpose room.
"Changes have also been made to the car park, the most significant of which is at the Southwell Avenue entry and exit. This has been temporarily blocked to traffic to reduce potential risk to customers and staff entering the facility. Advisory signs have been installed to direct people to the Old Sale Road entry and exit," Mr Mullen explained.
"The temporary entrance to the leisure facility has been created to allow the existing entry to the centre to be completely remodelled.
"Once works are completed, the remodelled entry will provide more space and light; with a new integrated kiosk and reception located adjacent to the entryway. We believe this will provide a fresh and welcoming experience for the many visitors to the facility," Mr Mullen said.
Remodelling of the entry is part of a $2 million extension and refurbishment currently being undertaken at Latrobe Leisure Moe Newborough, which includes the extension of an existing stadium to add a new multi-purpose court.
"Stadium refurbishments are progressing well with the stadium walls and timber floor nearing completion," Mr Mullen added.
