Wildlife Coast Cruises Crowned Business Of The YearWildlife Coast Cruises has taken out three awards, including Business of the Year, at the 2014 Bass Coast Business Awards announced at the Presentation Dinner on Friday night. Bass Coast Shire Council Mayor, Cr Neil Rankine, said the judges were impressed by Wildlife Coast Cruises development initiatives to expand their market, ongoing market research, comprehensive, targeted marketing plan, and their innovative ideas, such as their SMS Whale Hotline.
"Id like to congratulate Wildlife Coast Cruises, all our award winners and runners up," Cr Rankine said.
"Interest is growing in the awards each year. Feedback weve had from businesses is that entering the awards is a fantastic experience.
"It gives them the opportunity to review their businesses and help make decisions about their goals and direction for the future."
Over 100 representatives from a wide range of Bass Coast businesses attended the event held at Silverwater Resort, which created an atmosphere of excitement.
Councils Chief Executive Officer, Paul Buckley, congratulated not only the winners, but all businesses that entered the awards this year.
Mr Buckley said it was great to see businesses from across the whole Shire entering the awards and being acknowledged at the Presentation Dinner.
"Our local businesses are delivering fantastic services and building a reputation across Victoria, which is great for our economy, for visitors and for residents," Mr Buckley said.
"The growing popularity of the awards reflects the strength of our local business community.
"We know from past awards that there is an economic benefit that can be gained from entering."
The Council was represented at the Presentation Dinner by Cr Neil Rankine, Deputy Mayor Cr Kimberley Brown, Cr Clare Le Serve and Cr Bradley Drew.
