Latrobe "Energy" Basketball – Successful Year Behind UsThe Latrobe City Basketball LATROBE "ENERGY" Season 2004 has concluded with what can possible be the most successful season on and off the court for the Association can as a group. By Latrobe Basketball - 13th September 2004 - Back to News The under 14 Girls metro 1 team finished the year in 3rd spot. While the result wasn’t what they anticipated the girls can be proud of the achievement both personally and as a group. Both the under 16 and 18 girls finished in the finals this season of the Victorian Championship league. The under 18 boys finish just outside finals in Metro 1and the 14 boys to had a successful campaign in Eastern Qualifying with commitment shining through from those who travelled week in week out. The Latrobe "ENERGY" VBL men and women’s sides entered their inaugural season this year. With the assistance of Traralgon TBIRDS and The Latrobe City PACERS we were able to field two competitive teams. The association would like to extend their appreciation to both organisations and look forward to working with them in the future
2004 Coaching staff has been commended for their individual efforts. Two coaches being acknowledged are Andrew Harlow and Luke Henderson. Both of these guys have travelled every weekend and committed to weekly trainings with their respective teams neither coach has children involved. Both enjoy the game with a passion and their commitment is what will take Latrobe Basketball in to the future.
Latrobe also acknowledges and shows appreciation to Barry Herbert (President) who has been with the association for over a decade. His behind the scenes involvement has been faultless His services to basketball have been outstanding over the years and we acknowledge his contribution. We also acknowledge the efforts of the current executive and committee who are a small group of people who most possible don’t know exist. We would encourage the Latrobe community in 2005 to take an active role in the organisation.
