Author Talk A Roaring Success
Kerry Greenwood, Author Of The Phryne Fisher Detective Novels
Latrobe City Libraries hosted a lively discussion panel of writers on Saturday with more than 100 people coming along to the Traralgon Service Centre and Library.
The panel included Kerry Greenwood, author of the Phryne Fisher detective novels, currently being televised in the ABC television series Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries.
"Each of the panel members: writing duo AK Wrox (otherwise known as Amanda Wrangles and Kylie Fox), David Greagg and of course, Kerry Greenwood, talked about their work, the craft and research behind the books and the process of writing in general. They graciously took audience questions as they went along and signed many books at the end of the session.
"Kerry talked about the adaptation of her novels to television, remarking that she was impressed with the level of attention to detail in the production. She also shared with the audience the level of research she applies to her work in both the Phryne Fisher novels and her ancient history trilogy," Ms Skinner said.
"The panel was hosted by Lindy Cameron from publishing house Clan Destine Press, herself an accomplished writer who originally hailed from Traralgon.
"The fact that Lindy encouraged the authors to share so much of themselves and their love of their craft with the audience made for a very informal afternoon of discussion, discovery and laughs," Ms Skinner concluded.
