Lottie is a tale based on a true story about a murder in country Victorian town, Omeo in the 1920s. Ethel Griggs – the wife of a Methodist minister – died suddenly with the doctor’s certificate suggesting natural causes. However, when it became common knowledge that her husband had been having an affair, the police ordered her body be exhumed which revealed Ethel had died from arsenic poisoning.

This book is an accurate record of an actual event that intrigued and shocked Australia, the tale has been carefully recreated using well-documented evidence from the case.

More information is available by telephoning Cathy Carr at Wellington’s Library Service on 1300 366 244.
