"Shire’s Community Assistance Grants have a history of providing money to a range of community groups, as well as supporting the upkeep of key public assets," said Council Chief Executive Officer, Mr Glenn Patterson.

"Shire officers have recently undertaken community consultation on the Grants process and have made significant changes to streamline the process for applicants," said Mr Patterson. "One of the key changes is the introduction of a public forum which gives potential applicants the opportunity to speak to Shire representatives who will be available to answer questions and provide guidance."

This year’s Community Assistance Grants Funding Forum will be held on Monday 22 May at 6:15pm in The Fountain Room at the West Gippsland Arts Centre.

"We strongly recommend that community groups who are thinking about applying for funding through the grants program or who seek council support for other funding opportunities attend this session. This will give applicants a good understanding of the process," said Mr Patterson.

If you would like more information about Community Assistance Grants or would like to RSVP for the funding forum, please contact Bill Thompson from Baw Baw Shire on 5624 2437.
