Help shape our cultural futureWellington Shire Council and Regional Arts Victoria are inviting people to participate in a facilitated public discussion about cultural development in Wellington. By Wellington Shire Council - 28th August 2006 - Back to News The organisations are working together to create a Cultural Development Policy and information gathered during the discussion will be used to guide its content and future use.
"Community input is essential to the success of the policy and to the cultural development of the area. We have already gathered a good deal of information, through submissions and other projects but we wanted an opportunity for a more in depth discussion" said Deb Milligan, Regional Arts Development Officer.
"We want to explore priorities for development in terms of facilities, services, processes and Culture"
"We will talk about what enables people to be creative and contribute that creativity to their community and what hinders their involvement. The discussion will give people a chance to tell us what they think about the direction the policy is taking and how they would like to see it function in the future" said Ms Milligan.
The public discussions will be facilitated by Meme McDonald.
"I am looking forward to working with Meme. She has been involved in a broad range of cultural activities and I think her experiences will really add to our discussions"
