Domestic Wastewater ManagementPublic Draft of Latrobe City’s Domestic Wastewater Management Plan released. By Portal Admin - 20th January 2019 - Back to News Latrobe City Council has released the Public Draft of Latrobe City’s Domestic Wastewater Management Plan. This plan has been developed to address risks and comply with recent updates from the EPA Code of Practise: On-site Wastewater Management (2016) and the State Environment Protection Policy (Waters of Victoria).
The Plan identifies risk associated with on-site wastewater management of properties and townships while providing solution to on-site wastewater for the future residential development.
Community members from Tyers, Traralgon South and surrounding areas are also encouraged to express feedback about the plan. These two townships have higher levels of need in relation to potential alternative wastewater management strategies given the current lack of reticulated sewer.
The Community feedback is also open to all residents of Latrobe City who would like to provide feedback on the Domestic Wastewater Management Plan.
The primary purpose of the Plan is to identify and manage risks surrounding on-site domestic wastewater systems within the municipality. Council is also seeking comment on the document from the EPA, West Gippsland Catchment Management Authority and Gippsland Water in relation to identifying allotments unsuited to domestic wastewater and implications for these sites.
Information sessions about the Latrobe City Domestic Wastewater Management Plan will be held at the following locations:

Tuesday 16 January: 6pm to 8pm

The information sessions will have health services officers on hand for consultation and to listen to community feedback.
