Backing Community Groups across the Latrobe Valley
13 grant recipients will share in the funding from the Labor Government's Latrobe Valley Authority's Community and Facility Fund.
The Andrews Labor Government is backing community groups and projects across the Latrobe Valley with more than $1.3 million in grants awarded today.
Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing today announced that 13 grant recipients will share in the funding from the Labor Government's Latrobe Valley Authority's Community and Facility Fund.
Among the latest recipients, Latrobe City Council have received a $555,500 grant to construct a new multi-use pavilion at Catterick Crescent in Traralgon to help boost local participation in sport.
It complements the recently redeveloped Traralgon Sports Stadium at Catterick Crescent which was made possible by the Government's $85 million Latrobe Valley Sports and Community Initiative.
Other successful grant recipients include the Kath Teychenne Centre with $228,645 to improve accessibility at the Centre in Traralgon, including installation of access ramps, accessible toilet, kitchen upgrades, and painting to improve spaces.
Morwell Golf Club will also win big with $158,400 to improve sustainability by replacing the Club's irrigation system and;

- Yallourn-Yallourn North Football Netball Club - $14,000
- Trafalgar Men's Shed - $14,385

- Hazelwood Cemetery Trust - $14,690
- Tyers Soccer Club - $41,557
- Warragul Greyhound Club Inc. - $84,255
- Grand Ridge Rail Trail - $7,102
More than 180 different community groups across the Latrobe Valley region are now seeing the benefits of improved facilities thanks to the Government's Community and Facility Fund, delivered as part of the Latrobe Valley Authority's $266 million package.
The $20 million Fund is now fully subscribed, with LVA staff continuing to work with individual groups to complete projects already underway.
