Afl Comes To Morwell
The stage is set for Latrobe City to host an exciting AFL NAB Challenge game, between St. Kilda and Essendon, this Saturday at the Morwell Recreation Reserve.
Latrobe City mayor, Cr Dale Harriman, said the twilight game will be a great opportunity for all locals, young and old, to watch the two Melbourne teams in action.
"Latrobe City should get behind this match and support the AFL players as they head into the full season. This is a rare opportunity for residents to see elite footballers in our own municipality,"
"We are expecting a great family atmosphere with local musician Matt Fry entertaining the crowd in the lead up to the game. The game will commence at 4.40 pm, with gates opening at 3.00 pm"
"Local Saints and Bombers fans should book their tickets as soon as they can, as AFL members and St Kilda or Essendon club members receive the added bonus of free entry to the match," Cr Harriman concluded.
Residents are advised that there will be no public parking in the Morwell Recreation Reserve on Saturday; however the following locations have been made available for public parking:
- At the former Morwell Caravan Park off Maryvale Crescent (rear of Morwell Recreation Reserve)
- Other car parking is available within the Morwell CBD
People attending the match will not be allowed to bring alcohol into the ground, with security in place to check all bags. Dry areas have been allocated.
Tickets are $18 for adults and concession, $4 for juniors (under 15) and $36 for families (two adults, and four children under 15). Tickets are available through Ticketek, www.ticketek.com.au or 132 849 and on the day at the gate.
