Rates notice update and more news from South Gippsland Shire Council
South Gippsland Shire Council's update on their works and projects for the community.
We are encouraging all community members, whether you own a pet or not, to provide input and help us understand what's important to you so we can reflect that in the draft plan. There are a number of ways that you can have your say:
- Complete a survey via Your Say South Gippsland
- Make a detailed submission
- Visit us at a community listening post
- Register for an online workshop
Residents that participate have the option of going into the draw to win a hamper of local produce to the value of $200. To have your say please visit 'Your Say South GIppsland' web page.
DAMP will also assists in the welfare of dogs and cats, and protection of our community and environment from nuisance dogs and cats
Rates notice update
Rates notices will be starting to hit your letterbox or inbox next week. Due to the popularity of South Gippsland over the past year, many homes have increased in value, particularly in coastal areas.

Rates provide services to our local communities such as Maternal and Child Health, immunisation, playgroups, business support and sporting facilities
Foster shared path
South Gippsland Shire Council has obtained funding by the Transport Accident Commission's (TAC) local government grants program to investigate a possible shared path along Station Road, Foster. The path, which will run between Pearl Park and the Great Southern Rail Trail, will aim to help keep people safe as they walk or cycle in the area.
This location has been selected because it provides a direct connection between the Great Southern Rail Trail and the heart of Foster, as well as providing opportunities to connect with other important locations in the town. Council is seeking your feedback to help inform the development of concept designs that will improve the safety, security and amenity for pedestrians and cyclists, whilst also considering current and future demand of residents.

Get ready, get techy
There are a range of apps that can help you stay informed during an emergency. But sometimes it can be difficult to know how to download and use them. During September, council is running free Get Ready. Get Techy training that will guide you - step-by-step - through the set-up process and show you how to get the most from your emergency apps. Free training sessions will be held in the following locations:

A pre-tender meeting will be held on Tuesday 6th September at 9:00am at Foster Showgrounds Football Oval.All submitters are requested to attend. Tenders close 2pm AEST on Tuesday 13 September 2022.
