All residents of Port Albert and surrounding districts are invited to Wellington Shire Council’s next community meeting, to be held at the Port Albert Mechanics Institute on 12 August at 7.00pm.

The informal meeting will feature presentations from Council officers, who will provide the latest on the proposed wharf redevelopment, drainage and a street construction scheme.

Said Wellington Shire Mayor John Jago, "Our community visits have been proving highly successful and I am confident this coming meeting at Port Albert will be no exception. It gives a great opportunity for people to come along and learn about what is planned for their area, to ask questions relating to Council, or to raise issues of concern."

"Councillors will also have a full afternoon in Port Albert, meeting with local community and interest groups and inspecting the Gippsland Regional Maritime Museum. It is through visits such as these that we can really get to know our Shire residents and what their needs are.
