Pipe upgrade works at Archies Creek

Water supplies to Archies Creek will be interrupted on Thursday, June 18 as Westernport Water teams update local water mains.

By Susan Webster - 15th June 2009 - Back to News

The works, from 9am to 3pm, will see new pipework replace an outdated mains.

"It will mean better-tasting water for the residents of the Archies Creek area and is another part of our overall campaign for improved water," said Westernport Water managing director Murray Jackson.

"We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause residents. Our team will work as quickly as possible to reconnect supply."

Residents might wish to store a little water for household needs beforehand.

Water quality might vary shortly after the works. The water might contain more bubbles and appear milky or opaque. There is no health risk from this water and it will soon clear as the tiny air bubbles escape.

Some customers might discover air in their pipes as a result of this work.

"We suggest they leave their taps open to allow the air blockage to pass and normal water flow to resume," Mr Jackson said.
