Delivering Jobs for The Latrobe Valley

Businesses encouraged to register their interest.

The Latrobe Valley GovHub is another step closer with planning approvals now in place and local businesses being encouraged to register their interest in working on the build.

Planning Minister Richard Wynne has today approved the new planning controls for the 65 Church Street Morwell site, soon to be home to up to 300 workers.

The GovHub will include 200 workers from the Victorian public service, including staff from Earth Resources Regulation, Parks Victoria, EPA and Solar Victoria.

The Andrews Labor Government is continuing to call on the Commonwealth to match Victoria’s commitment by locating more Australian public service jobs to the region.

Castlerock Property have committed to utilising 75% local content during the construction phase, delivering significant opportunities for local businesses and workforce.

The project is expected to cost $25 million and will create up to 100 construction jobs.

Local businesses interested in being part of the Latrobe Valley GovHub project are invited to register with the Industry Capability Network, who will be holding an information session on Tuesday, 30 July. The session will give local businesses the opportunity to understand more about the project and meet with the developer.

Early works demolition and site clearing is now underway on site, and construction will begin in August.

The new GovHub is part of the Labor Government’s $266 million package to support economic growth in the Latrobe Valley, create jobs and drive the businesses and industries of the future.

According to the latest Australian Bureau of Statistics Labour Force data, the Latrobe-Gippsland region’s unemployment rate is at an all-time low of 3.2 per cent.
