Your Chance To Clown Around At The Library These HolidaysSchool holidays in winter don’t have to be dreary – the Latrobe City library service has fun for all to brighten up the days, with clown shows and interactive art workshops. By Latrobe City Council - 12th June 2009 - Back to News Latrobe City’s children’s services officer, Noeline Grayden, said that ‘Red the Clown’ would entertain in a 45 minute interactive show.
"Red’s show contains heaps of audience participation, magic, juggling and unicycling. Red has performed extensively and has the skills, veracity and experience to entertain audiences of all ages," Ms Grayden said.
Red will perform on Tuesday 30 June at the Traralgon Library at 10.30am and Morwell Library at 1pm. On Wednesday 1 July, Red will perform at Churchill Library from 11.30am and at Moe Library from 2.30pm. The Red the Clown Show cost $5 per child and numbers are limited, so early booking is advised.
"In week two, the ever popular ArtRageous workshops by Penny O’Neil will help children unleash their inner artist. Recycled material will be transformed into amazing, colourful artefacts in a one hour creative workshop.
"The workshop will enhance and stimulate children’s imagination with safe materials that are totally different to the standard art room supplies. Children will be able to make two to three objects during the course of this fun workshop," Ms Grayden explained.
The ArtRageous creative craft workshops will be held on Thursday 9 July and cost $5 per child. All workshops are very hands-on. Sessions will be limited to 30 children per session.
The workshops will take place at Moe Library from 10.30am until 11.30am; Morwell Library from 1pm until 2pm and Traralgon Library from 3pm until 4pm.
Bookings for both activities are essential and pre-payment is required.
