Community feedback wanted on future upgrades for Graydens Reserve in Bass Coast by 16 June 2024
Bass Coast Shire Council seeks your input on the future of Graydens Reserve, a beloved Newhaven space, with upgrades planned. Participate via surveys and drop-in sessions until 16 June 2024.
Bass Coast Shire Council is asking for your thoughts on what the future of Graydens Reserve could look like. Graydens Reserve is a much-loved community space in Newhaven and Council is planning for future upgrades of the area. Late last year Council asked for expressions of interest to make up a panel of community members who have a connection to the Reserve to help co-design the community engagement for Graydens Reserve.
You can provide feedback through an information session on Tuesday 28 May or via email, community consultation closes on Sunday, 16 June 2024
Reserve's future plans
This panel of 18 community members met in February this year and spoke about the uses of the Reserve. Bass Coast Mayor Cr Clare Le Serve said it is an important and well used community space.
"During the community panel meeting we heard that it is a popular place for birthday parties, gatherings for families and friends, a stop-off on the way home from school and to and from the Island. Now we want to hear from the wider community about how they use the Reserve and what they'd like to see there in the future," Cr Le Serve said.
This planning will take into account Regional Roads Victoria's future plans for Phillip Island Road. It also shares the Bass Coast Skate Park Strategy Review 2023 which identifies the design of a local skate park at the Reserve. There are a range of ways you can share your feedback including a survey and drop-in sessions. There are separate surveys for adults and children so we can hear from a broad audience who use the Reserve.
