Ingram Welcomes $1.97M Funding For New Bsc Science CentreThe Independent Member for Gippsland East, Craig Ingram, has welcomed today’s announcement by the Federal Government of $1.97 million for a new science centre at Bairnsdale Secondary College. By Craig Ingram - 1st July 2009 - Back to News Mr Ingram is chair of a committee established to create an education hub in Bairnsdale, incorporating new school buildings.
"The money is part of the Building the Education Revolution school rebuilding program and can go towards building a new science centre as part of the master plan for new buildings at Bairnsdale," Mr Ingram said.
"Bairnsdale Secondary College staff and parents on the school council have put an enormous amount of effort into applying for funding for new facilities at the college and should be congratulated for their efforts to date.
"I remain committed to working with the college and school council to obtain further commitments from the state and federal governments towards building a new college, which will form an integral part of an education hub for the East Gippsland region.
"I have extended an invitation to the State Minister for Education, Bronwyn Pike, to visit Bairnsdale later this year and experience first hand how new facilities at the school will strengthen the learning environment of students and teachers at the college," Mr Ingram concluded.
