Green Drama Troupe Calls For Performing Arts ProfessionalsGreen Expectations, based at Latrobe Regional Gallery, is a three year arts-based project addressing the themes of greenhouse gas emissions through community education and engagement. By Latrobe City Council - 6th July 2007 - Back to News Latrobe City’s arts innovation facilitator, Zephlyn Neilsen said that the Green Expectations team is seeking individuals that would like to be a member of a drama troupe, supported by the Green Expectations project.
"Members of the drama troupe will be mentored by Melbourne based street theatre group ‘Born in a taxi’. Those selected for the troupe will then be employed to promote a wider understanding of greenhouse gas emissions and sustainable energy use through drama and performance to schools and at community events and festivals.
"We are seeking individuals who are professional or emerging professional performing arts practitioners. The troupe will need to be available to work week days and weekends, depending on events. This is a fantastic opportunity for local performing artists to develop their talents whilst simultaneously addressing an important environmental and social issue," Ms Neilsen explained.
Ms Neilsen said that interested parties should forward a resume with contact details via email or post.
"To support their submission, applicants should include a short document outlining why they would be suitable for this role. A short piece should also be prepared for an audition as a part of the selection process," Ms Neilsen explained.
For further information about the project please contact Zephlyn Neilsen on 5128 5639. To submit an application for a position in the Green Expectations drama troupe please forward resume and associated documentation by Friday 27 July 2007 to Zephlyn Neilsen, Latrobe City Council, PO Box 264 Morwell 3840 or via email at zephlynne@latrobe.vic.gov.au.
