Pacers; lost in close encounterLatrobe City Pacers lost in a hard fought game at Moe on Saturday in front of a large home crowd. By Gippsland Latrobe Basketball Inc. - 21st March 2005 - Back to News Newcomers the Dandenong Rangers were always going to be hard to beat having been succesful in the South East Conference last year and seen by the Big V as genuine Championship threat this year.
The Pacers stayed with visitors all game, managing to pressure Dandenong on every shot.
Dandenong’s import Lester Strong, who played impressively at Frankston with a 36 points and 11 rebounds against Warrnambool logging 5 dunks, in a 60% shooting display, managed on 24 points against the Pacers at 63%.
Weaver was clearly the best for the Pacers with 23 points and 3 assists, while Stuart Leech made a big impact with 14 points, 3 blocks and 9 rebounds. New Import Sedale Threatt scored 14 points with 3 assists and 2 steals, while Paul Clough had 16 points and 7 rebounds.
