Gippsland East MP, Craig Ingram, welcomed the boost for his electorate on behalf of emergency services volunteers.

"Stratford SES has been allocated $70,000 for a new building, while Marlo Rural Fire Brigade receives over $42,000 towards a light tanker," Mr Ingram said.

Other local organisations which were successful in this round of funding include:

· Lakes Entrance Surf Life Saving Club, $35,206 for replacing rescue vehicle;

· Bendoc SES, $22,000 for building extensions;

· Maffra SES, $9044 for rescue vehicle accessories;

· Lakes Entrance Ocean Rescue, $2067 towards purchase of a new life raft; and

· Marlo Ocean Rescue, $11,460 to purchase a Sea Doo personal watercraft

Mr Ingram said many of these organisations had been waiting on much-needed funding to assist with their operation.

"Local volunteers work hard to provide these services, and their communities have supported them by contributing funds which will be used along with the latest grants," Mr Ingram concluded.
