Online network a boost for local business
Gippsland Business Connect: free and innovative tool to connect local business with the local community.
A partnership between Latrobe City Council and Latrobe Valley Authority, Gippsland Business Connect is a free and innovative tool to connect local business with the local community - a win-win for the economy. There will be an information session held on Friday 3 August, 3.30pm, at the Traralgon Service Centre in Kay Street.
Latrobe City Council’s mayor, Councillor Darrell White said that any opportunity to promote business in the Latrobe Valley was welcome.
"Our business community works hard to be seen. Anything we can do to help them market and sell their products or services is a boost for us all. A strong local economy means a strong local community.
"Gippsland Business Connect brings together businesses and their target audience through a number of different avenues. Features include a searchable local events calendar, project notifications to local suppliers to get quotes, local supplier recommendations or letters of introduction, and a search function for businesses based on locality or industry," Cr White said.
"The free information session is an opportunity for local businesses to find out how they can benefit from the network, what they have to do to get started and, most importantly, how they can use the site to grow their business.
"It’s simple to use, free and just another way that we are supporting our local economy through transition. We hope the business community will see the merits in being connected locally and in turn, that the buying public will support the use of the site to find goods and services in their own locality.
"Attracting investment is a key priority for us and our region is made far more attractive by being able to demonstrate to investors that there is a strong and adaptable local economy.
"We would encourage all local business owners to attend the information session to find out how they can be a part of this exciting venture," Cr White concluded.
