Small Changes To Portfolio Responsibilities

East Gippsland Shire Councillors have made small changes to portfolio responsibilities following the return of Cr Gil Sheppard to Council.

As a result portfolios will be:

  • Arts, Culture and Heritage – Crs Urie Fisher, Haldane.
  • Commercial – Crs Nettleton, Schrader, Sheppard.
  • Economic – Crs Urie, Fisher, Nettleton, Rowe, Schrader.
  • Emergency – Crs Haldane, Buckley, Rowe, Schrader.
  • Environment – Crs Urie, Fisher, Nettleton, Rowe.
  • Governance – Crs Urie, Haldane, Sheppard, Nettleton, Rowe.
  • Indigenous Issues – Crs Urie, Haldane, Fisher, Rowe.
  • Planning – Crs Urie, Fisher, Rowe, Sheppard.
  • Transport – Crs Haldane, Buckley, Nettleton, Schrader.
  • Waste Management – Crs Buckley, Fisher, Nettleton, Rowe, Schrader, Sheppard.

CEO Steve Kozlowski said the portfolio system had proven very successful since its introduction in 2003.

"Councillors are able to apply their expertise in areas of particular interest which helps spread the workload and ensures balanced representation," he said.

In addition to portfolio representation, Councillors also sit on more than 20 Advisory Boards and committees.
