Information sessions for new online library servicesInformation sessions on the Latrobe City library service’s new and improved 24/7 Online Library Services facility are being held on 26, 28 and 29 July at the Morwell, Moe and Traralgon libraries respectively. By Latrobe City Council - 12th July 2007 - Back to News These online services have been significantly enhanced with the provision of new databases including great new Australian coverage through the ANZ Reference Centre.
Latrobe City’s library systems coordinator, Claire Wood, said that as well as major newspapers from all states across Australia, the ANZ Reference Centre includes leading Australian and international periodicals in full text.
"There are full text reference books, significant biographies and an image collection of photos, maps and flags. There is also a new and exciting science site, which will be invaluable to students of all ages, covering science topics across the curriculum.
"Coming soon, will be the fabulous fiction connection, which will open a new wide world of literature for book lovers," Ms Wood explained.
Ms Wood added that this online facility provides library members with this service at no cost through the internet 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
It is available at www.latrobe.vic.gov.au/library/online/.
Once the website is viewed, library members need to log in with their library card number.
Latrobe City’s Traralgon, Morwell and Moe libraries will be holding demonstration sessions in July to highlight these new services. The sessions will last for about one and a half hours and will guide users through the new and improved online services facilities.
The sessions will be at Morwell on Thursday 26 July at 3:30pm; Moe on Saturday 28 July at 10:30am, and Traralgon on Sunday 29 July at 3:30pm.
