Boost For Local Sports Clubs in Gippsland
The Sporting Club Grants Program is helping more people of all ages and abilities in Gippsland to get involved in grassroots sports and get active.
Grassroots sports clubs in Gippsland are getting the equipment, skills and expertise they need to grow and be more competitive.
Member for Eastern Victoria Region, Harriet Shing today announced would share in more than $750,000 from the latest round of the Andrews Labor Government’s Sporting Club Grants Program.
The Sporting Club Grants Program is helping more people of all ages and abilities in Gippsland to get involved in grassroots sports and get active.
There are grants for new modern uniforms and equipment, along with grants providing training programs for coaches, officials and volunteers.
In Bairnsdale , the Bairnsdale Football Netball Club Inc will use the funding to The Club will define and clarify its vision, mission and set of values that will guide current and future decisions and actions.
This clarity of purpose will help increase participation and enjoyment by further improving Club culture. This, in turn, will assist in attracting & retaining players, families, members & sponsors.
Meanwhile, at Seaspray, the Seaspray Surf Life Saving Club Inc will be now able to engage a consultant to assist the Club with the development of the Seaspray Surf Lifesaving Club Five-year Strategic Plan.
This will ensure the Club's future sustainability through increased membership, continuation and expansion of Surf Sport programs and development of fundraising strategies to support our growth.
The Sporting Club Grants Program is part of the Labor Government’s strategy to make sport more accessible and inclusive, support clubs and volunteers and boost participation at the grassroots level.
This comes on top of the Labor Government’s $120 million Community Sports Infrastructure Fund which is upgrading tired grounds and ageing pavilions, and building female-friendly change rooms across the state.
