Agribusiness:
Gippsland’s agrifood sector gets employment boost

Agribusiness Gippsland will join forces with the East Gippsland Food Cluster in the 'Gippsland Regional Agrifood Employment Project'

By Portal Admin - 14th February 2017 - Back to News

Agribusiness Gippsland will join forces with the East Gippsland Food Cluster in the 'Gippsland Regional Agrifood Employment Project', which supports Gippsland’s disadvantaged job seekers to gain permanent employment in the region’s vibrant agrifood sector. The project is part of Jobs Victoria, which has provided $39 million to employment services across Victoria to deliver jobs to disadvantaged Victorians.

The project leverages the strengths of Gippsland’s two leading agriculture and food production networks - Agribusiness Gippsland and the East Gippsland Food Cluster - to connect with key stakeholders and industry skills specialists.

They will work with training and service providers to help job seekers by engaging with employers across the Gippsland agrifood sector, and their related supply chains, to identify vacancies and support jobseekers moving into those roles.

The Gippsland Regional Agrifood Employment Project will be implemented over two years across the six local government areas of Gippsland.
