Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester has welcomed today's official opening of the slipway precinct in Lakes Entrance. "It's been more than 20 years since the slipway moved from the centre of town and the site was left derelict with the winch sheds falling down and nothing useful happening at the location in the heart of town. But with funding from all levels of government and inspiration from local business and community leaders, the site has been transformed.

"The winch sheds are being used for live music and artistic endeavours while the deck area overlooking Cunninghame Arm is the perfect spot to relax with some fine food and drinks from the traders out the front," Mr Chester said.
