Grant Assists Lakes Entrance Netball AssociationLakes Entrance Netball Association players now have their own outdoor netball court, with the assistance of a $5,000 grant from East Gippsland Shire Council’s Community Small Grants Program. By East Gippsland Shire Council - 2nd April 2004 - Back to News The re-surfacing of two former tennis courts into one netball court at the Lakes Entrance Recreation Reserve will be a huge boost to the local netball community.
The facility will be used by the large number of junior and senior players on most days of the week. It will allow interschool sports as well as local competitions to expand.
Lakes Entrance Netball Association committee member, Sue Campisi, said the new court will be great for the town.
"It has been a 10-year plan by the club and members, and it is now coming to fruition. This is the first time Lakes Entrance Netball Association has had its own base," Sue said.

"We’re pleased to be able to assist the Lakes Entrance Netball Association with a Community Small Grant of $5,000.
"The committee and numerous helpers do a wonderful job in organising the various training and competitions, and should be congratulated on their efforts," Cr Bates said.
East Gippsland Shire Council donated over $100,000 to 52 groups as part of the 2003/04 Community Small Grants Program.
