Melbourne Fringe On Tour Hits TownLatrobe Performing Arts Centre will welcome performers from the Melbourne Fringe on Tour on Wednesday 31 July from 8pm with two stand up shows bound to hit the sweet spot with audiences. By Latrobe City - 29th July 2013 - Back to News Latrobe City Council’s coordinator performing arts and venues coordinator, Kathleen Roberts, said that both shows had received rave reviews.
"Million Dollar Tegan features a young female boxer’s sporty spice journey from growing up in Dandenong to making her fight debut. The show is packed full of belly laughs and was nominated for the Best Newcomer Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Show last year.
"The second performance is Cannonball by Emily Taylor who brings her brand of black comedy direct from New Zealand. Delving into the complexity of modern urban life she uses fragmented narrative to reveal the fantastical behind the mundane and the disturbing beneath the ordinary. From a macabre psychiatrist’s receptionist, to a faux spiritual CEO, to an evil Cabbage Patch Doll, the characters of Cannonball are deceptively everyday," Ms Roberts said.
Melbourne Fringe on Tour is on at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre on Wednesday 31 July from 8pm. The LPA Bar opens at 7pm. To book your tickets call the box office on 5176 3559.
