Gippsland rural airstrips and aerodromes can apply for grants of between $5,000 and $3M from federal Remote Airstrip Upgrade Program
The guidelines for round nine of the federal government,s Remote Airstrip Upgrade program have now been released.
Local MP Darren Chester said the early release of the guidelines was an opportunity for interested organisations to begin preparing an application. "I encourage eligible owners and operators to familiarise themselves with the guidelines and begin preparing to submit an application when the process opens," Mr Chester said.

Ensuring communities are connected
Mr Chester said, "Throughout Gippsland our rural airstrips are crucial to ensure the delivery of supplies and services, facilitate life-saving emergency flights and keep rural communities connected. Eligible owners or operators of existing aerodromes can apply for grants of between $5,000 and $3 million."
The guidelines are now available at the Remote Airstrip Upgrade Program - Round 9. Applications open on February 3, 2022 and close March 17, 2022.
