GIPPSLAND GIFTS SEEKING LOCAL HANDMADE ITEMS 07/05/09

www.gippslandgifts.com is an on-line store that has launched a local shop in Church St Arcade Morwell that is new and unique to Gippsland. The store contains many handmade and Australian-made products by local people with the hope of showcasing many more handmade gifts from talented people in the Gippsland region.

" The reason the store came about was that I make many craft gifts in my spare time and I saw a real need for an outlet to promote unique and handmade products in the Gippsland region", said Eimear McNelis, founder of Gippsland Gifts, a local Gippslander with years of experience in retail and marketing.

"We are hoping the store will become a local Co-op of sorts, where customers can buy and sell local products."

At the moment the website and store features Handmade Jewellery, gourmet soaps, special gift hampers, designer dresses, and Meem’s home-made natural soy candles and melts. Local produce includes Clearly Delicious Jams and Chutneys and Freckleberry Chocolates.

The high quality jewellery features low allergenic hooks and most of the jewellery is made from Czech glass, Austrian glass or Swarovski Crystals. Many of the more expensive pieces are double rhodium plated, these products WILL NOT tarnish like silver can.

Mish Mash Gourmet soap is based on pure vegetable Glycerine which is a natural moisturizer; Glycerin actually draws moisture from the air, thus attracting moisture to your skin. Only quality fragrances, bright pigment colours and organic herbs are used to lovingly create each and every individually hand made soap, each with its own unique characteristic. Gippsland Gifts also has a special "Gippsland Gifts" section to promote local products. If you make something original and unique in the Gippsland area and want to promote and sell through Gippsland Gifts, please email Eimear at sales@gippslandgifts.com.

"The idea of promoting and selling Gippsland products means that customers get something unique and that they know is made locally." The website and store is looking for items for its Kids and Baby section, Art, Furniture and Homewares in particular, but all enquiries are welcome. Please visit www.gippslandgifts.com for on-line shopping, free catalogues and special offers today!
