Free Herbicide For New Property Owners

Latrobe Valley property owners who purchased their property within the last five years and have a weed problem are entitled to a free 200g satchel of the herbicide Brush-off, while funds last.

By Latrobe City Council - 4th November 2003 - Back to News

Latrobe City’s Pest Plant Coordinator, Peter Steller, said that funding from a second generation Landcare grant for the purchase of herbicide would assist new owners in their battle against weeds.

"Often when purchasing a property it is hard to determine the extent of weeds that you are about to inherit, and the weed problem can be greater than you first thought," Mr Steller said.

"Brush-off is a selective herbicide that can be used to kill most broad-leaf weeds and a 200g pack should go a long way to assist with the control of weeds such as blackberry and ragwort," Mr Steller concluded.

If you would like to apply for the free herbicide or would like more information, please contact Peter Steller at Latrobe City Council on 1300 367 700.
